the best christmas gift!

taylor's parents had a stroke of brilliance and got taylor and I snowshoes for christmas!
something I would have never thought to ask for, but as soon as we opened them, I could not wait to try them out!
anything with the snow + adventure with taylorray=giddy kelli

so first thing the next morning, we headed up into the mountains.
and OH MY GOSH
we have topped this on our "top 5 coolest things we have ever done"
purely because of the beauty.
we were seriously AWESTRUCK at what we were seeing.
there was about 3 feet of snow--and it was completely untouched except for the paths we left behind.

there was something so liberating about just making our own random trails and stumbling upon winter wonderlands that you can only dream of!
pictures don't even do justice!

as a californian, experiencing very limited snow growing up, I was in total awe at just how much snow there was!
I kept asking taylor if we could stop to make snow angels and to fall backwards into the snow. ha

taylor accidentally took this picture when we were trying to take a selfie--and for some reason I just love it. scruff+perfect teeth+bundled up--he speaks to me ;)

we've been twice so far, and are already planning our next trip--complete with a winter-wonderland PICNIC!
dreamy, right?
we love owning these little snowshoes--it's pretty great to just pick them up and head off into the mountains together.

and man alive, I am SO happy that tayrayg will always be my #1 adventure buddy.
we have too much fun together!

when we went snowshoeing a few days ago, we sat in the snow, looking over a ridge, and talked about life and love and sorrow. and for some reason, everything seemed so much easier  surrounded by white, while sitting so high in the mountains you felt like you could almost touch the sky with your pinky finger.
to sum up. I love life, and snow, and beauty!

  12. I already told Tristan I want these for my birthday in February! Seriously, my favorite thing to do in the winter (because skiing is EXPENSIVE). You'll have to share a list of your favorite places to go!
