Proposal Round 2

Late last night, Taylor asked me if I wanted to go on a drive with him.
We used to go on drives through the canyon all of the time when we were dating, so I jumped at his offer as soon as he asked.
After driving for a little while, Taylor pulled over.
We sat on the side of the road and talked for a little while.
Then Taylor reached his hand into his shirt pocket, pulled out a wooden ring, and said,
"Kelli Davis, will you go camping with me?"

Taylor and I have always thought it would be awesome to get wooden rings to wear when we go camping.
And this sweet boy went out and made it happen.
(he even remembered my ring size! ;))
It was such a cute moment.  I had so many butterflies.
I even got a sweet kiss when I said, "Yes!" :)
My husband is secretly the biggest romantic.  And I love it.

Aren't these awesome?

And here we are, excitedly showing them off.

I love my wooden ring. And I love my sweet husband. :)

Keeping my promises

I promised to upload a few more pictures from our camping trip this last weekend.  So, here they are!

Here's Taylor during our blow-dart gun matches!
Blow dart game continued...Taylor in the trees

This game was so fun! We played for hours!
Me and my man by the campfire
Tom started blowing darts high into the air.  The game was to try to catch the dart in your hat before it fell into the fire.  I think Taylor's long arms were a large disadvantage to the rest of the crew! Ha
Bag-O tournament!  I wasn't very good at this...during the first round we had 3 losses, and zero wins.  But then we came back for a season and actually started winning just a little!

City or wilderness..I just love this boy!
Me and Marce
On the hike!

I grew these things for this reason and this reason only.  A great and comfortable way to wear my backpack ;) Yes, I really did wear it like this during the hike.
All eight of us slept in one tent!
This trip was sososo fun!! I am pumped and ready to go camping again! I love Utah...and I love summer!

Weekend in the wilderness

Sorry for the lack of posts the past few days!  Here is a quick one for now, and then I will post a better one tomorrow!

This last weekend, Tay and I went on a camping trip with Marci&Tom, Ryan&Rachel, and Camden&Etta!  We had such a blast!  The weekend consisted of hikes, blow-dart gun games, campfires (of course!), bag-o tournaments, inside jokes, and so much more!

More pictures will follow tomorrow, but here are just a few!

Love this boy, love this picture.

The girls on the hike.  This is where we took a break and ate lunch.

My husband being normal.

My husband being weird.
And, Guess what tomorrow is?  Seth comes home!  We are so so so excited! More to come tomorrow!

S'more weekend would sure be nice...

Another Monday, another week!  Even though Mondays are a tad bit discouraging, Tay and I had quite a fun weekend.

On Friday, we went to support Marci's soccer team.  She coaches the cutest (and most talented!) 14 year old girls.  They received second place in the championship!  We were so proud of them!  And it was such a fun game!

On Saturday evening, Tay and I were invited by the marvelous Brody and Jenni to a park up in the canyons where we grilled hot dogs over a campfire with some good friends.  We even ended the night with some delicious s'mores (hence the blog title for today).  Even though we strongly smelled of campfire afterwards, we loved every minute of the evening!
Our lovely drive up the canyon.  Utah is such a beautiful state!

Taylor made a late night trip to Wal-Mart, and brought home Ben & Jerry's for us to share in bed.
Yum! Love this boy!

And, of course...Happy Mother's day to all mothers throughout the world.  Two special shout-outs are needed. One, to my own mother, whom I love with all of my heart.  I couldn't have asked for a better role model, exemplar, and friend.  She is truly an amazing woman, and I strive daily to emulate her many wonderful characteristics.  And now, I am lucky enough to have TWO moms.  Can life get better? I think not.  My mother-in-law is always amazing me with her many talents and skills.  I feel a little (a lot) inadequate next to her.  Her friendly and outgoing charisma is something I always admire.  She is so good to include me in everything and make me feel part of the Gilbert clan. :)  I couldn't have asked for a better mom-in-law.  I love these two women dearly!

Taylor's brother, Seth, was able to call home for Mother's day.
Just eight days until he is home!
I was spoiled this Mother's day.  Even though I'm not a mother.  Taylor surprised me with beautiful flowers when I woke up. I gave him a bit of a quizzical look, and said, "You know...I'm not a mother, right?"  Taylor smiled and said, "But you will be someday; and you're closer now than you ever have been."  Did I get butterflies a little? Mayyybe :)  I have a wonderful husband.  And THEN, my dad-in-law gave me some lovely flowers.  I guess I'm included in this wonderful little holiday now. ;) Happy Mother's day!
