Gala

Remember this post?
I promised to add more pictures from our lovely evening.
So here they are!

And here's a video of Taylor dancing.
He is such a good dancer!
But as soon as he saw me recording, he stole the camera. ;)

We had such a fun time.  And isn't he just so handsome? :)

Surprise date

Taylor called me at about 6:45 tonight (right after he got out of class) and said, "I want to take you out on a date tonight.  Be ready in 20 minutes!"
I had the V.P. debate all cued up, but I paused it for this special date (this is big for me...I was more excited for the debates than for Christmas morning when I was six. seriously...just ask Taylor...ha).

Our date started as soon as he arrived home.
He gave me the sweetest kiss and then said,
"I have been thinking about this moment all day."
Yeah, he's a charmer. ;)

Then he grabbed one of his shirts from the bedroom and blindfolded me.
He guided my blind self to the car.
Of course, that was a debacle all in itself.
p.s. please notice the beautiful hints of fall in the background!
Oh my, I am getting so excited for this pretty season!
Taylor told me: "This is nothing special.  But I just wanted to make it fun for you."
Hey babe?  It's always special when it's with you.

Taylor took lots of twists and turns to confuse me.
And then we arrived.
COSTCO!
Costco food-court is one of our favorites.
Cheap, yummy, and always a fun time.

Plus, life is always good when you get to end the night with ice cream!

Isn't this boy darling?
Always making life fun and surprising for me.

Hey guess what tomorrow is?
Park City. All weekend.
With my main man.
Could I be more excited?
I think not.

Oh p.s., my darling husband got me the iphone for our anniversary.
(anniversary blog post to come)
This just made blogging 10x easier.
Thanks, Tay!

Stress

While Taylor was anxiously engaged in his studies and homework tonight, I was dancing like a penguin (no, really.) and singing random things.
Mostly, I was trying to get my husband's attention.
He would look at me, laugh, and then return to his homework.
I kept singing, "I hate homework! I hate your homework! Ohhh, homework...hate! hate! hate!"

Then I said, "Yeah, I don't miss having homework."
Taylor gave me a joking "glare" and then...returned to his homework.
Don't get me wrong...I am so proud of my smartie-patootie husband.
And I was just like him when I had homework.

He looked so stressed all night, and my singing probably wasn't helping.
But it was still funny.
He ended up throwing a cup of water at me to get me to stop. Ha.

While I don't miss the stress of homework, I definitely still have stress.
Right now my biggest stress item:
Making sure I don't use my limit of copies before the end of the month.
Seriously.
That is stressful.

I said to Taylor, "You look stressed."
Him: "I am."
Me: "Me too.  I'm worried about running out of copies before the end of the month!"
If I hadn't ducked behind the couch right after saying that, I probably would have been killed by a pillow attack of some sort.
I'm getting smarter. I've learned to duck or run away fast after saying mocking things.
He doesn't like it so much when I joke that he has homework and I don't. ;)

This weekend=me and TayRay in Park City!
All weekend.
NO STRESS.
Just relaxing.
And celebrating ONE YEAR. :)
Can't wait!

Our one year anniversary.

One year ago today, I became Mrs. Gilbert.
And we became an eternal family.
I have never been happier.
Our love is wonderful.
Happy one year anniversary to my wonderful best friend and husband.
xoxo

Just around the corner...

How you know our anniversary is coming up:

I find this on Taylor's laptop:
"Kelli, Don't open me. Ok. Love, Macbook Pro."
:)

And presents hidden secretly throughout the house.
Hoping Taylor hasn't found anything yet. ;)

Can't believe Monday will be our one-year anniversary.
This has been the best year of my life.
I am one lucky girl.

Changing leaves.

On October 1st, Taylor and I decided to celebrate the new season by going up into the mountains to see the changing colors.
We had dinner on a picnic bench while we enjoyed being surrounded by beautiful leaves and fall scents.
The air was brisk and chilly...which made me excited to start bundling up!
Here are our pictures:

 Happy fall, everyone!

Puppy girl.

You've heard this story before.
But I'm telling it again.

When Taylor was on his mission (we didn't know each other), I sent a picture to my friend Jordan (who was Taylor's mission companion) of me holding a puppy.
Random picture, but I think it went with a story I told him in a letter.
Jordan believed that Taylor and I were made for each other.
(see here for full story and for a view of the picture!)
Jordan gave that picture to Taylor so that he could always have a picture of his "future wife" for the rest of his mission.
Even though Taylor had absolutely no intention of meeting me when he came home, he carried that picture around for the rest of his mission just to be funny.
He put it on the fridge of every apartment he moved to.
Him and his companions joked about Puppy Girl.
And when they asked Elder Gilbert (Taylor), "Are you ever going to date Puppy Girl?"
He would say, "Nope."
It was just a big joke.
When Taylor went home after his mission ended, he left the picture on the fridge of his last apartment.

Tonight we met one of Taylor's old mission companions for dinner.
It was my first time meeting him.
The first thing he said was, "Puppy Girl!"
Then he turned to Taylor, "I still can't believe you married Puppy Girl!  You know, Puppy Girl is still hanging on a fridge in Canada.  That story is infamous!"

After hearing that, my heart couldn't help but smile.
Isn't it so funny how things work out?

I'm so glad Taylor married his Puppy Girl.  :)
