Happy Halloween!

Last weekend, Taylor and I went to an AWESOME Halloween party with a bunch of married/dating/engaged couples! ha!
A big thanks to Brody and Jenni for throwing such a fun party.
For Halloween this year, I went as a lion and Tay was a lion tamer.
Cute, right?
Our costumes turned out perfect!
And they were relatively cheap!
Thanks to D.I.
First things first: I had some great help with the finishing touches of my costume.
My great neighbor, Ali, did my eye makeup.
And Taylor's Aunt Jill teased my hair to the extreme for my lion's mane.
Everyone thought my hair was a wig...nope, it is really my hair.
Take a look!

Had to show off my little tail :)

Please excuse his creepy eyes and slipping mustache.

Brody and Jenni always go way out when it comes to party food.
We love them for that. ha

Towards the end of the night, I was getting a little worried about how I would ever untangle my hair.
But it only took about 10 minutes and a full bottle of conditioner!

Oh! We won the pumpkin carving contest!
And I won the costume contest!
Gilberts taking home the cake! ;)

Here's a creepy-style one just for fun :)

Dear Taylor:
Thanks for being such a good sport each year and being so patient with me dressing you up.
You are such a fun husband!

Happy halloween!

Saturday morning.

Taylor and I had such a wonderful Saturday morning.
We started it by attending the temple with some good friends.
Then, we went to the yummiest of all breakfast places: Kneaders!
Such a great start to our Saturday!

pea-coats and snow on the mountains means that winter is coming!!

The yummiest orange juice and french toast in town.

Halloween party tonight!
Look forward to lots and lots of pictures!

Halloween 2012!

Okay, kids.
I cannot WAIT for Halloween.  I know I already have a post dedicated to this same subject.
BUT, our first Halloween party is on Saturday night.
Which means our costumes finally get to come all together!
Tay and I just ordered some last minute things the other night.
So I'm hoping they come in the mail on time :/

I just love Halloween!
Hoorah for this fun season!

Oh, hey, chocolate covered bananas.

Last night, I made chocolate covered bananas for me and Tay.
They were so yummy!
I've been on a dessert making, craft making, yummy-food-altogether making frenzy lately.
It's making me feel like quite the housewife. ;)
We enjoyed our bananas while watching an episode of The Office.
Splendid night?
Yes! On all accounts!

This was Tay's attempt at a creepy smile...I think he accomplished it.

And hey...who's ready for Friday?
Because I sure as heck am!

Family Night

Last night, Tay and I invited two of our favorite couples over for games and dessert for family night.
We played a few rounds of catch phrase, and were laughing more than we could handle.
We had so much fun!

Taylor picked out the goodies, and he did such a good job picking "fall appropriate candies."  I was quite proud. Ha

Our dessert: nutella cheesecake with oreo crust. So yum!

I love good friends and good times!

Fall decorations

Yesterday, I invited some cute neighbor littles over to help me make some halloween/fall decorations.
We had so much fun!
And hey, they were cheap and turned out cute!
Always a double bonus.

Yes, I know that Halloween is less than two weeks away...but better late than never, right!?

So, here is a glimpse at our little ghosts:

 Please excuse my studious husband.

Oh, and of course, fall decorations wouldn't be complete without a cute fall banner.

Along with a few cute scarecrows and pumpkins, our apartment is surely feeling the season!

One long weekend.

I had fall break this last Thursday and Friday.
Which meant=no school! (aka work)
This is why you become a teacher! Ha.
Already looking forward to my next break in about two weeks! ;)

I had SUCH a productive few days:
deep cleaned our house
planned yummy fall dinners (and desserts!)
went grocery shopping
scheduled a doctor's appointment
babysat cute kids
shopped :)
gathered more things for our Halloween costumes
worked on craft projects
went to the dentist
...and more!

Oh, quick dentist story:
I have a love/hate relationship with the dentist.
I love going, because they always compliment my teeth. Brag moment? Maybe...ha.
(It's in my family genes...none of us have any cavities, and have generally strong and healthy teeth, plus I am a big teeth-cleaning-nazi)
I went to a new dentist this time, and he said, "Man! Where did you grow these teeth!?"
But...the hate part:
I have receding gums.  And so it's always pretty painful in those areas.
Turns out the dentist wants me to have gum surgery (replacing my gums with parts of my pallett).
Ugh :(
I'll keep you updated on that.

Anyways!
Two things I loved about our weekend:
We got to see our very best friend, Kelsey Briggs!
Kelsey has been with us since the very beginnings of mine and Taylor's relationship.
PLUS, she was part of the sneaky plan when he proposed!
Oh, we love her.

We also went through haunted houses and corn-mazes.
I never realized Taylor was SUCH a pansy when it came to these things.
He kept pushing me in front of him! Ha!
It was pretty scary.
But so fun!
(and...big bummer...both Taylor and I forgot our cameras/phones and so no pictures were taken during our haunted adventures).

So, here are some pictures of our evening with Miss Kelsey!

Reaching for the last birch beer (birch flavored rootbeer)

Victory!

 Birch beer and bananagrams!
